For my animal painting I decided to paint one of my horses. Coco is secretly my favorite horse out of them all. He is a giant puppy that just wants to lick you to death. He has taught me so much and has made me such a strong and confident rider.

When we started this project i know i wanted do paint north beach! Its a beautiful area that its close to home because that the beach i have grown up on! I was careful with my color choice because both the sky and the sea were so close in color so for the sky i made sure to put fluffy and super white skies to be able to see the difference in the two, and lots of purples and pinks in the ocean to give it a more of a glare on in. I put uncommon colors in areas to create a more cartoon look up close and a more realistic look from afar. I took super dark blues and purples to create shadows that aren't to dark but still putting color into the overall frame. I used a round brush with dabing strokes to create a fluffy cloud look for the sky and a square brush with unmixed and multiple colors at one to give it a simple stroke look on the water. I was sure to let areas dry before moving on and layering the paint to give it a more 3-d look. Giving the sky depth was difficult with a flat surface and giving the sea the right flow. But working with the different colors went really well and i like how i was able to add a pink into the sand without overpowering the color.
This is the beach I am painting its a private beach in charleston that i visited with my family over 2019 summer break. Its known by the local as Jelly beach but is named North beach.
I made my piece neatly messy. its is uneven set for a reason. It is an unrealistic painting of a realistic picture. with straight lines set to a clean look the uneven buildings give it a curved look like the inspired artist. i used a dark blue base because just about every other color pops out on the royal blue i used but i also added little bits of yellow to give it a warmer feel. the pinks and purples around the orange eye gives it a pop while still guiding your eye out. the eye is because it represents the sun of the world. i used textured layer paint to give the eye a 3-d look and curved lines to flow the piece. i didn't put one because u wanted the sun rays to go off the edge to give it a whole word feel. with how this the paint was it made it hard to get the right colors and needing straight lines and curved lines made it hard to flow the peace.
